Omar H. Durrani, M.D.

Dr. Omar Durrani is certified by the American Board of Urology. He graduated from Tulane University and the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency as a general surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and a urology residency at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.

From 2004-2005, Dr. Durrani was a Fellow in Laparoscopy/Endourology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was Clinical Instructor in Urology for the same period.

Past academic appointments also include:

• Clinical Fellow in Surgery - Harvard Medical School - 1998-2000
• Clinical Instructor in Urology - Tufts University School of Medicine - 2000-2004

Dr. Durrani treats urological ailments in adults and pediatric patients. Besides general urology conditions, he treats cancers of the kidney, bladder, and the prostate. He performs vasectomies with no scalpel techniques and also does microsurgical reversal of vasectomies. He deals with management of impotence in men. This may need oral medications, injections, some special devices or surgical implantation of penile prosthesis. Dr. Durrani has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and prostate cancer.

Ayaz M. Durrani, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Ayaz M. Durrani was a clinical instructor in urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, and a staff urologist at the Memorial Herman Hospital - Southwest in Houston.

Dr. Durrani received his postgraduate training in surgery for nine years in England. In the United States, he completed his training in urology in 1976 at the Lahey Clinic Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts.

He has developed instruments which are being used in prostate surgery at several places in the country. Dr. Durrani has authored books on both prostate cancer and vasectomy.

Dr. Ayaz Durrani retired in 2009, turning over his practice to his son.
